My 9-year-old daughter introduced me to the world of Aesthetic Tik Toks and now....
For those of you who are looking at the screen like I'm speaking gibberish log into your Tik Tok account or your kid's your niece's or nephew's and look it up! If you are anything like me, you won't regret it. An Aesthetic Tik Tok can only be explained by the way it makes you feel while watching. Words will not suffice. You must see it to understand it.
The first time I watched I was glued to the screen for 45 minutes straight with my lips slightly parted and one eye half closed. I was watching what people do before bed, listening to the sound of dog food being poured into metal bowls, and comparing as different women shared their ideas for getting rid of strawberry legs using beautiful clips of their shower shaving products and processes. The only thing I could say after is, what was that?
These Tik Toks are so satisfying. Before I started writing this today, I watched a woman pour water from a beautiful pitcher into a perfectly iced glass. I bit my lip as the camera zoomed in on the splash as she dropped her metal straw into the drink. She then lifted the simple beverage to take a sip, and I couldn't help but notice her beautifully manicured nails and well-oiled fingers.
I am obsessed! Writing in a quiet house with no distractions, flavorful meals, good sex, and aesthetic Tic Toks... heaven on earth for me!
How could something so simple be so entertaining? I don't know but it has me wanting to try it for myself. With the encouragement of my daughter, I'm going to start creating aesthetic Tik Tok videos. Tik Tok brings so much joy and entertainment to people and it looks like so much fun! I am an artist and full-time writer now; I love creating positive things for the world, it's only fitting that I do this right?
I haven't tried anything new in a while. My biggest concern has been how people would receive me after a couple of failed attempts at being great. As much as I say I don't care and I'm good after something I start dies, I CARE! Failing hurts, and sometimes it takes a while to get back up after the wind has been knocked out of you like that. It has taken me a while to want to show up, and this little thing has me fired up and wanting to get back out into the world of entrepreneurship and creating.
A women's empowerment coach I follow, posted a video of her building her business as a voice over said something like, "If you want to make your own videos for You Tube, do it, if you want to dance on Tik Tok, do it. If you want to post a thirst trap, or send your crush that dm, do it. Let them think your cringe! Wouldn't it be better to let a few people from your hometown possibly cringe, than to get to the end of your life with boxes and bags of regrets because you didn't go after your dream. What if it works this time? What if you're as funny as you think, or as talented as your friend said? What if your dances go viral? What if your crush has a crush on you too? What if it all works out. How will you know if you allow fear to keep you from trying?"
That was the push I needed!
My daughter has been begging me to update our space, and she loves the idea of recording us redecorating. That will be our niche for now, creating Aesthetic Tik Toks out of us updating our space, changing bedding wall art and rugs. After that's all finished maybe we'll do some of our daily routines, and self-care rituals, because why not?
I am going to write a few more blog posts and have them available to read on my website before I start to really go hard creating Tik Toks. I'm manifesting great things right now, so I know it's going to drive tons of traffic to my blog, I want to make sure when visitors get there, they have plenty read. When I finish writing we are going batch create some videos this weekend to be dripped for the next couple of weeks.
I'm kind of excited! Check me out next couple of weeks @PhilenaLiving on Tik Tok! Let me know what you think.
Are you obsessed with anything right now? Tell me about it in the comments or find me on my new Ig page and join the conversation over there @philenam.
As usual Thanks For reading. See you back here same time tomorrow!
Philena M.
